Right now, I am sipping a cup of raspberry leaf tea while I am trying my best not to fall asleep at my computer desk. Even if I close my eyes for a few minutes, I would not get adequate sleep. No naps for me today. 😴 If we were having tea at my house or virtually via a Zoom meetup, I would share some of my favourite tea quotes with you. In May 2016, I printed these tea quotes and added them to cute frames to use as table placements. I wanted a safe place to keep these quotes because #memories but didn’t want to keep the original document. It’s only logical to write a blog post about my favourite tea quotes, right? 🍵💕
This blog post is as random as my mood today, and my mood happens to be a mix of depression, gloom, envy/jealousy, and frustration. Yes, it’s a weird mix of feelings and I and I am riding an emotional roller coaster right now. No, I am not dealing with PMS symptoms….yet. My depression seems to come and go in large waves, and these waves usually knock me off my feet. I will be okay; it’s just another wave that comes and goes like ocean tidal waves. As the saying goes, this too shall pass.
Honestly, I could not find the energy or motivation to finish writing a decent blog post last week, despite multiple attempts. This morning, I resorted to reading fellow bloggers’ blog posts for inspiration, because my classic listicles and how-to guides weren’t cutting it. I was inspired by blogger Lucy, who runs a blog called Elsie LMC. If you aren’t familiar with her blog, I recommend that you check it out! She writes about similar topics, but goes into greater depth about her personal life which is a breath of fresh air. If you are currently following my blog (thank you~!), then you will probably like her content too!
It’s Time for Tea! (◡‿◡✿)
Back in 2016, I didn’t use editing apps so the quotes were not as colorful as these ones. By the way, I am curious to know which tea quote is your favourite. It does not have to be one from my list. Also, do you enjoy drinking tea? If yes, what is your favourite kind of tea? Feel free to join the conversation by leaving a comment below ↓

I’m one of those ‘only drink tea when your sick’ types of people.
I know it’s good for you but I just am too lazy or stubborn or both.

Hi Vee! I’ve got a special tea for you for when you’re sick; a lemon ginger tea by Tetley 🍋
Agreed, preparing tea can be a pain. Steeping tea takes forever (I’m looking at you, loose leaf tea) so I’ve resorted to tea bags for now. I use a water heater that’s set to the right temperature and keeps water hot all day, everyday. Luckily, the electricity bill is included with rent. It’s such a useful kitchen gadget!

I have tried several times to get into tea, but couldn’t. I guess I am more of a coffee person. The only ‘tea’ that I drink is a Caribbean hot chocolate which I call “Cocoa Tea”, which is made with grated cocoa.

Coffee is yummy. I’m currently drinking some iced coffee which may not be the best idea at 11:24pm. I can totally see my insomniac self regretting this later. ☕️💕
Ohhh that sounds so good! 😋 I’ve heard of chocolate tea and have tried it, but I’m not sure if it’s the same thing as “cocoa tea.” I really want to try Caribbean hot chocolate sometime! ♥️

I absolutely love tea- I can honestly drink any flavour but my absolute favourite is probably chamomile or chai. My favourite quote was the last one because that’s exactly what I need right now tbh.

Chai tea is so good! 😍 It is one of my favourites too! It took me a very long time to warm up to chamomile. I drink it because it helps me sleep at night and calms my nerves. It’s funny that you like the last one the best because the quotes weren’t in any particular order. Like the saying goes, save the best for last! 😂😅 Thanks for stopping by, Pooja!

Yeah I drink chamomile for that too- it helps with sleep and my anxiety. Haha wow what a great coincidence!

Speaking of sleep, I’m wide awake and drinking iced coffee. I went for a late night walk to MCDs and couldn’t resist. I’m definitely gonna regret this decision as I can see it being another sleepless night.

Yeah coffee does that to me too! I get really tempted every six months or so and then regret it all night.

I wish I only drank coffee every 6 months instead of 6-7 days/week. I hate that I’m super tired but cannot sleep.

That feeling is honestly the worst! And it gets you into this weird cycle of always waking up late abd sleeping late.

Thank you, Ashok! 😊 Agreed, there’s nothing that a cup of tea can’t fix. My go-tea tea is steeped orange pekoe tea. There is something so satisfying about it! Right now I am drinking an decaffeinated apple cinnamon tea infused with turmeric. Thanks for reading! 🍵💕

I have always been more of a tea drinker, than coffee.
I can drink tea black now, which I have been doing before I went dairy-free. But if I fancy the odd one with a bit of soya milk in, then I will.
I am missing my chamomile at the moment, with not having any in. I usually have one or two before bed and one sometime in the day.
I like my fruity teas and green tea too.

If you like black tea, you might like it iced. I recommend trying iced tea with steeped tea leaves. Tbh I’ve tried soya milk in orange pekoe tea and didn’t care for it, but oat milk is palatable. Highly recommend trying oat milk!
Mmm, fruit teas are so good! I also love fruit tea and it was a favourite of mine growing up. I’m missing chamomile tea right now too. It’s an effective natural sleeping aid. To this day I cannot spell the word chamomile without autocorrect 😂

I have to check I have spelt chamomile ok too. Lol To say I have had thiscsome years now.
I have had oat milk and like. But soya is mostly what I use and most teas black, regardless of flavour. Just odd ocassion my regular decaff tea, now and again milk.
Tea, I don’t like cold. I only like that hot, with exception I find I can drink fruit flavoured teas cold. 🙂

I can drink any kind of tea except green tea — is that weird? I feel like most people love green tea. My all time favourite is peppermint tea. Earlier in my breastfeeding journey, I took breastfeeding tea made of raspberry tea leaves and nettle. I really loved it! 💖

Nope, it’s not weird at all! Since you aren’t a fan of hot green tea (I’m not either), I highly recommend trying matcha. Matcha powder can be added to smoothies and cold beverages, and surprisingly, it’s tasty. My favourite matcha drink is the green tea frappuccino from Starbucks. It’s probably not the healthiest drink out there but it’s really refreshing and delicious.
LOL I was wondering if anyone would catch onto the raspberry leaf tea mentioned in my blog post and you totally saw that 😂 I drink the stuff to regulate menstrual cycles and enhance fertility 😉 Idk why it works, but I swear by the stuff. I am not pregnant but I hope to be in the future #baby-dust ✨

Ow interesting! Maybe I’ll try that next time I’m at Starbucks.
Raspberry tea works wonders! I don’t know how it boosts breastmilk supply either but it does work! 😆

Definitely try it at Starbucks sometime, and if you don’t like it, you can blame me. It’s SO good! ♥️ I saw someone with the drink on campus and it intrigued me because I’ve never seen anything like it before! Since then, it’s pretty much the only Frappuccino I order at Starbucks!
I mainly use raspberry leaf tea for PMS, cramps, postpartum healing, and!TTC. Sadly, I couldn’t produce adequate breast milk for my daughter but I wasn’t waking up every 4 hours either. My milk supply was low and dried up really quickly, even after trying a breast pump. I was severely anemic after giving birth so that might have contributed. It’s good to know that this tea can help with breast milk supply! Ty for sharing! 🌻🌻

Ow wow I hope I’ll like it too, we’ll see. It’s too bad I can’t tolerate green tea, but i’ll try matcha. I heard it has a lot of benefits.
I didn’t know it’s good for those things too. Usually when I have cramps, I just go for my classic peppermint or chamomile. I guess I really don’t pay attention to what kind of tea is good for specific things. Maybe I’ll pay more attention to that moving forward. I only knew about it being good for breastfeeding moms because one of my lactation nurses told me.

The only painkiller I take for cramps is Tylenol. I try not to take medications or prescription medications if they can be avoided. Hot beverages help with cramps, especially caffeinated beverages. What’s nice about raspberry leaf tea is that it’s not caffeinated and can be taken before bed. I find it very soothing too. Your nurse sounds very knowledgeable! 😄

Thank you so much for the mention, I’m glad my post inspired you! ✨ I like how you made it about tea too 😋 Love that last quote the most 🙌 I really enjoy tea, used to drink it mostly at home but now I think it happens more so when I’m with friends as we’ll get a pot of it going to sit and chat/watch films 💫 Great post! 💕

I had a draft with a bunch of quotes that was sitting in my folder for the longest time… there will be more quotes in a future blog post. After reading your blog post, I thought, “hmm… this might work!”🤔This was not what I had originally decided to blog about, but that’s okay! Life is spontaneous and unpredictable sometimes. Sharing a pot of tea sounds like a great way to spend time catching up with friends! 🍵💕

I hate it when people comment on my blog right after I commented on theirs, like they feel obligated or something… but here I am sorta doing it. But not really, lol. I just remembered I like talking with you. I’ve been so out of the loop with WordPress so I haven’t commented on anybody’s posts in a while. I noticed just before writing this that I only posted twice in June. Haha. Quite a change considering I was once doing a post a day!
Maybe we’ll figure this motivation thing out.

Haha no worries! I’m not judging!😆What bugs me is how people will like 10 of my posts at once but not comment on them. I know they liked them without even reading them, which drives me crazy.
I like how you took the time to thoroughly read my blog post and leave a thoughtful comment. To me that means a lot! And thank you… I’m glad that you enjoy my company. I’m usually pretty lonely so it’s nice seeing comments and engaging in conversations on here.🥰 haha I think you beat me in June because I only posted one blog post that month! Posting once a day is A LOT of writing… to me that sounds more like a pain than anything to try and crank out a blog post for the sake of posting one everyday! Whether you post once a day or twice a month, write when you feel like writing because those are the best blog posts imo.😌💕

Do I like tea? *sips tea from first cup out of probably seven to be drunk over the course of the day* …maybe?
I do love a cup of black tea (has to be gold blend from Lyons or Barrys because I’m Irish – pick anything else and you’re wrong).

You can never drink too much tea. Sometimes, it helps to keep a pitcher of steeped tea in the fridge, if you like it cold or served over the rocks. Fruit teas/green teas are good served cold and hot. I have some English roots so I enjoy a nice cup of black tea too…drinking some orange pekoe as I write this.😊 I wonder if they sell those tea brands here! I have a big box of Tetley tea bags to tide me over in the meantime lol

Well I have to say I’m not much of a Tetley tea fan. It’s Barry’s or Lyons for me but that’s just my Irish showing 😀
I love buying iced tea in the shops (which is mostly just sugar, let’s face it) but I’ve never been keen on making it at home. I seemed to never get the mix right somehow for something that’s supposed to be so simple!
That’s changed now that I’ve discovered how tasty limoncello is – just grab a few random fruity teas, add a generous dash of limoncello, some lemonade like sprite or 7up – it’s so good!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Honestly, neither am I. I prefer other brands over Tetley’s. I’ll keep an eye out for the brands you mentioned.
My favourite type of tea is loose leaf, but I used bagged tea b/c I’m lazy. One place that makes iced tea without added sugar is a place called David’s Tea. It’s popular in Canada and the US (I think). In Canada we have iced tea which is just drink crystals and pure sugar – yuck. Honestly I can’t believe I used to drink iced tea all the time a kid. Real iced tea has actual tea in it lol
Limoncello I’ve had before. Lemonade and sprite/7up are good options too! Never thought to mix them with fruity teas… I’ll try that sometime!

Same – lazy an bagged tea is a lot handier. Actually, recently I just bought some empty teabags for my loose leaf tea so I could make tea bags out of my loose leaf tea and I am finding I’m drinking those teas more.
You know, I think I have some David’s Tea…I think…I just know that my sister’s partner was in Canada at the start of the year (in the before times!) and bought a shit ton of tea loose leaf tea over there. Like, I think he spend €150 on tins of tea. There was a blueberry one I had that was nice. I must try some of the other teas he got – all the flavours sound so much more interesting than what I can find here.

I’ve seen bags for loose leaf here but they’re kinda pricy. I have yet to find some that are more affordable. I might give in and buy them from David’s Tea one of these days. Unfortunately, the stores are closed so I’m going to wait until they reopen. I prefer to buy in-store than online. 🍵💕
Oh wow! That’s so cool that he visited Canada. €150 a lot of tea! You can definitely get a lot of gourmet tea for that kinda money here. And yes, David’s Tea a large variety of tea to choose from. You really can’t go wrong with fruit teas. I have one blueberry tea that I love so much, which I bought in my home province back when we could travel. It’s a brand called Loyd and their berry teas are amazing! ♥️

Yeah, those empty bags can be expensive. I found a box of 20 of them for about €2 in a store near me and even then, they don’t have them in stock all the time which is annoying. I have come across reusable tea bags online somewhere. I must look into those more. They might me an initial investment but if they work it could be a money saver in the long run.
Well, if ever I do visit Canada, you’ll know where to find me – I’ll be in the nearest David’s Tea! There’s probably some good tea shops in Cork and Dublin but damn, I wish there was a tea shop in Limerick where I actually am!
Going back to my previous mention of tea and Limoncello, I had some black tea the other night with a dash of Limoncello – can recommend!
