700 Followers: A New Milestone!

(っ◔◡◔)っ700 Followers! Like my toddler always says, Whaattt?!?! ♥

I try to publish a new blog post every Monday during the summer break. It’s not Monday yet, but I wanted to share some exciting news with you and this announcement cannot wait any longer. As you have already guessed from reading the title, this blog has reached 700 followers! If all of you were to attend a lecture at the University of Guelph, the biggest lecture hall has 606 seats. Sorry, I guess some of you will have to stand. Feet off the tables, please.

Honestly, I did not expect to gain 700 wonderful followers, and yet, here we are. I believe that this blog has a lot of potential and I am already envisioning it reaching 1,000 followers this year. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart, for spreading the love and helping to keep this blog alive! ❤

Stay hungry, Stay Focused!

What are you focusing on?

I believe that bloggers, especially those who are new to the WP community, are eager to gain followers which is a great goal. I mean, who doesn’t want followers, handfuls of comments, and daily traffic? When I first started blogging, I felt like I was talking to a wall. I rarely got comments, and if I did, it was usually spam. Lots of things have changed within a year, but most of these changes resulted from observing others, learning what not to do, and taking notes. Even though this blog is already 4 years, it sat dormant until April 2019. In other words, this blog gained approx. 680 followers in 15 months!

There is one blogger in particular who helped jump-start my blog. Even though Ilona was a fairly new blogger, the WP community seemed to naturally gravitate towards her blog because she had friendly, non-judgmental vibes. At one point, Ilona and I became international pen pals! 💌 Sadly, I haven’t heard back from her since November 2019 and I miss her terribly. It was recently brought to my attention that she permanently deleted her [second] blog which is really unfortunate. I hope she knows that she is deeply missed by the blogging community.🌹🥀

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Regardless of what happens throughout my blogging journey, I remind myself that I will gain some followers and lose some followers along the way. I consider myself to be a creative person but I am terrible at networking as well as collaborating with people. Also, I am the perfect candidate for transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) which are triggered by stressful events, and I have already had 2 major TIAs in my lifetime. Statistics state that 1/3 of people who experience TIAs will also experience a stroke in their lifetime. This is not a sob story; this is simply why I try to avoid taking on extra commitments. Just breathe, mes amis. 🧘‍♀️🌱

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how you achieve your goals as long as you are constantly working on becoming a better version of yourself. I believe that nobody is entitled to success, but everyone has the potential to succeed with hard work, grit, and perseverance. Stay calm, and never give up on your dreams! ❤

Thanks for stopping by!

I haven’t been a consistent blogger and I know I can do better. I have so many ideas but channeling these ideas into one really good idea or niche can be challenging. It’s definitely a work in progress.

I would love to buy a domain but a) my domain name is taken and b) I’m afraid to lose these followers if I were to buy a domain, which I have seen happen to bloggers. The last thing I want is to start over again. I know that there is so much more for me to learn which is why blogging is never boring! 😅

Yeah I understand what you mean. There’s a lot more I want to do with my blog too but it’s not always possible.

You should look into self-hosting. That might work better for you than buying your domain through WP.

Congratulations on reaching a new milestone! Many more to come! I’m just a new follower, but I’m looking forward to reading more! I love the message! I love that you mentioned that it’s important what we become along the journey of reaching our goals.

Hi Nath! Thank you for following this blog. I am following your blog too! 😊 Btw, I love the name of your blog. That catchy song has been stuck in my head all day 😅

I blog about a variety of different topics, ranging from life as a Millennial to mental health to Q&A’s. Ty for your kind words and feedback – it really means a lot to me! 😊💕

I’m fortunate that I can travel with my profession as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I tend to go to outlying areas to treat the underserved, poor and homeless. It’s never dull! Presently I’m in a tiny fishing village in Alaska…….

Wow! Your job sounds amazing! I am currently working towards becoming a RN. This will be my second degree and I feel like I have been in school forever….

I heard that Alaska is a very peaceful and scenic place to live, but I also heard that food and overall cost of living can be pricey. Alaska sounds interesting!

Correct on all counts. I had a lengthy nursing career, mostly ER and ICU. It’s a wonderful career with a thousand different roads you can take. Well worth the journey I assure you! I went to Med school to become an FNP. No regrets. Reach out if you need some encouragement. The educational process is a killer – but you’ll reach the light at the end of the tunnel. I promise.

Thank you for your words of encouragement! ❤ This journey has been a challenging one, and I briefly blogged about the struggles. I have one more semester left but I feel unprepared.

I couldn’t imagine what it is like going to med school. It’s great that you knew what you wanted to study and poured your heart and soul into it. I also think that it is incredible how you are not only making a difference in people’s lives, but you are also helping those who truly need empathy and compassion. 🙏💕

Just know – what you are feeling is totally normal. The education process is simply to ensure public safety. That’s what your boards will be about. Safety. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Safety! You will be trained specifically when you get your first job. So don’t worry about all that. Just get through. Schedule your boards for the first available date. Get that precious RN after your name. And come join our wonderful profession. You are needed!

Your replies mean a lot to me. Thank you for your encouragement and advice, Polley93 😊 Yes, someone who understands Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs! I use it for personal growth and development, and I cannot stress enough how important that pyramid is! 😅 For a while, it was my desktop background #true-story

Congratulations!! That’s such an amazing milestone and definitely calls for celebration! I know how you feel with regards to your comments about being a new blogger and I’m sure that you’re not alone in that either. Your advice about how important it is to work on a better version of yourself is so inspirational too – followers will come and go but as long as you’re working towards self improvement you’re still smashing it. Congratulations and I can’t wait to read more from you! xx

Thank you for your support, Amy! 😇 You have supported this blog since the beginning and I really appreciate it. I find that blogging starts off slow, especially as a new blogger, and it’s tempting to give up. I found that the easiest way to overcome this roadblock was writing for an audience rather than for myself. My first few posts were much different than the type of posts I write now. They weren’t bad but they weren’t great either. It’s cool to see how bloggers grow and change over time! 😊💕

Thank you for your support, Lauren! 😇 I would have replied sooner but I got distracted and ended up playing Animal Crossing for 10 hours. I also forgot to eat…. yeah, it was bad. I even fantasized about making ANCH-related blog posts, but Idk how to transfer screenshots to the computer yet.😂🤣

Yep! Onto the next goal. They say to write our goals down on paper so that’s what I did! So far, so good! Dream big, right? 😊💕

Thanks, Lauren! 😇 I didn’t post anything this past week because I’m depressed at the moment. When I’m feeling up to it, I will post another blog post. I’m hoping to reach 1,000 followers by the end of the year! 🙏🏻💕
