Fudgy Brownies

(っ◔◡◔)っTreat yourself to some fudgy, chocolatey brownies! Not only that, but they are also perfect for sharing with family and friends

★彡[ᴅɪᴅ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ꜱᴀʏ ʙʀᴏᴡɴɪᴇꜱ?!?!]彡★

Okay, so this recipe isn’t exactly the healthiest but kids love them. I do plan on posting a healthier brownie recipe in the future, but for now, this is the one that I am using. Because these brownies are made with simple, standard ingredients, they’re pretty much guaranteed to be a show-stopper!

If you’re looking for a healthier, plant-based dessert recipe, then I recommend checking out this chocolate cake recipe by Peppa Pig. Kids love Peppa Pig so you really can’t go wrong with this healthier alternative.

Anyways, back to the brownies. The fudgy brownie recipe is fairly simple and straightforward. To make the brownies extra special, you can dust them in confectioner’s sugar or add a few chocolate chips. Another advantage of this recipe is that it’s simple enough for children to help. Let’s get started, shall we?

FUDGY BROWNIES

Servings: 12                          Time: 40 minutes                          Difficulty: easy

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • confectioner’s sugar (optional)
  • chocolate chips (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-or-9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Using a mixing bowl, mix together the cocoa and sugar. Add in the melted butter and stir again. Finally, whisk in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add the flour and salt, and mix just until smooth. Gently incorporate the chocolate chips (optional). Don’t overmix it.
  4. Scrape the mixture into the pan and spread it out n an even layer. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the brownies just begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  5. Take the pan out of the oven with oven mitts, then let it cool on a heat-proof surface before cutting. Sprinkle confectioner’s sugar to decorate (optional). Enjoy!

There’s a thing called “cheat days” and holidays haha. I think there’s room for it, but I understand where you’re coming from. Thanks for reading!

P.S. My daughter (bottom photo) is as skinny as a twig and she eats whatever she wants. I’m jealous b/c I’ll gain 5lbs just from inhaling the aroma of these brownies 😂🤣

I don’t believe in cheat days. Cheat days restrict us from taking our favorites. I like 80-20 rule, however for that I need to work hard that much 😛.
Recently on diwali, I spoiled my diet completely and to my surprise nothing happened. However, my metabolism is terrible, if I do it frequently, I will gain weight again.
I can eat such things, but guilt also trouble me 😅
        It’s 2 edged sword.
        .
Also, I didn’t know you had a daughter that big. 😃
        Great 😇

I have an intuitive eating approach, which helps me maintain. However, I want to lose weight rather than maintain. In the new year, I will be cleaning up my diet. Junk food keeps finding its way into my house.

Yes, my daughter is 6 years old now which is crazy. I also have an 18-month old son.

Thats true. I think she wanted us to call her “the queen” and to “be her servants.” Idk where she got that idea from, but my husband said no and she threw a giant temper tantrum. Typical Monday evening.

I used to LOVE rabdi! So yummy. I don’t really like cakes a lot but I always love cupcakes I don’t know why lol. I also like vegan cheesecake a lot.

I never tried cheesecake. I have heard it’s good.
        What’s Vegan cheesecakes?
Is it made with soya milk, almond milk or coconut milk? I am sure, it’s impossible to find it here.

I haven’t tried vegan cheesecake – only the traditional kind made with cream cheese. I used to find cheesecake to be a bit too indulgent until I had really good cheesecake which changed everything.

I think I’ve seen it somewhere. They also had blue cheese cake. Need to explore it. I need to make sure it’s available in pastry, because what If I don’t like it and might not able to finish it. Plus, my diet won’t allow me much.
        Anyway, how are you Hilary?

Ew….no. Yuck, don’t get blue cheese cake 🤢 I don’t like blue cheese and it’s not traditional cheesecake. Try to get cherry cheesecake or strawberry cheesecake if you can. If you want to know what cheesecake tastes like without buying an entire cake, then I recommend trying “Jello cheesecake cups.” I’m not sure if this brand exists in your country but it tastes exactly like cheesecake and they’re in these individual pudding-sized cups (portion control). It was one of my favorite snacks growing up and it wasn’t super high in calories. I think they came in packs of 4.

Blue cheese cake is like trying cheese tea instead of traditional bubble tea. Never opt for it as a newbie lol. I’m not a fan of cheese tea either (it’s gross) but if I were to try that first it would have put me off of bubble tea completely. Luckily, cheese tea didn’t exist when I started drinking bubble tea in 2005.

Aha!! You are telling me as if there would be these much options available here 😜
I will see what I can find(while avoiding blue cheese cake as per your suggestion) and let you know.
Here majorly, dark forest, chocolate, red velvet are very popular. I don’t remember when was the last time I had a cake of any kind.
Jello cheesecake sounds interesting, but I wonder where I can find it.
Bakery are generally tempting, whenever you enter there, you end up buying something there 😛.
I’ve learnt a lot of new names in 60 secs 😅

Well I mean, if blue cheese cake is an option then there must be lots of options there, right? Blue cheese cake isn’t the norm here, at least I hope not 😂

I actually had basic vanilla cake over a week ago, so I will be avoiding cake for a while. It was a giant slab cake that hardly anyone ate, so I ended up with 3/4 of it for myself. Too much of a good thing. Anyways, cheesecake is a very rich dessert and quite different than typical cake.

Here’s a link for the Jello cheesecake if you’re interested. Sorry for the spammy link: https://www.myfoodandfamily.com/brands/kraft-jello/product/00043000044223/jell-o-ready-to-eat-strawberry-cheesecake-pudding-snack-14-oz-sleeve-4-cups

Lets not think about these cheese cake any further, haha
I really can’t have them in my diet atm.
        How are you Hilary?
I asked you before, and I hope you are fine and at good health.

I’m not sure I understand what’s wrong with sharing a link in the comments on my blog, and okay.

That’s too bad about your diet but I understand. I’ve been thinking of cheesecake all evening.

I’m actually sick right now but need to feel better by Friday because I’m working Friday-Sunday.

The crazy thing is that that photo was taken when she was 5 and she’s outgrown that outfit 😞 She’s growing up too fast – she’s 6 years old now!

Speaking of tacos, I really feel the need to upload my fish taco recipe. I was debating whether to share it or not but tacos 🌮 I haven’t written it up yet but it’s back on my list now!
