February Goals | Winter 2024

I’m super late writing this blog post only because I have been busy working on myself. And by that, I mean personal health and well-being. It takes up most of my free time, which leaves me with no time for anything else. I haven’t forgotten about you all and you are the reason why I keep coming back to this blog. I want to try and keep you guys updated on my whereabouts.

For those of you who have been following me on Twitter, I will continue to add updates of my progress regarding my workouts, water intake, and daily steps. Additionally, I may post small pieces of creative work, like poems, unpopular opinions, and photos of my family. Twitter/𝕏  is where I tend to open up and share my thoughts. You can follow me via the following link:

*˚*•̩̩͙ Who I Want to Become •̩̩͙*˚*

I have made the decision to shift my monthly goals for February and March. This means that I will be focusing more on fitness and wellbeing. I am doing a [free] program right now and I’m 1/3 of the way through the program. It’s not really a fitness challenge but rather a mental toughness challenge. I cannot talk much about it unless you ask me directly on #Twitter since I am a novice and don’t feel competent to give advice about whether this program is right for you.

February Goals 2024

Career Goals:

  • Try to aim for 9-12 shifts this month
  • Catch up on emails if there are any
  • Bid on shifts for February as they become available
  • Add 1-2 new designs on #Redbubble

Personal Goals:

  • Publish 1-2 blog posts + monthly goals/recap blog posts
  • Figure out a posting schedule for #Medium
  • Keep tabs on doctor’s appointments/pending appointments
  • Read 10 pages of a personal development book each day
👉 Elsie LMC got me into reading books again! This is the current book I’m reading.

Health Goals:

  • Two 45-min workouts per day + upload progress on Twitter
  • Limit drinks to water, tea, and coffee
  • Track hydration on Water Llama app
  • Track steps on Pikmin Bloom app
  • Healthy/clean eating 90% of the time
Timon the cat helps keep me accountable 😆

Finally, I would like to end on a positive note, but I do want to address one more thing. I have been receiving numerous requests for pictures of myself, and I want to clarify that I am not currently posting them. I have set a personal goal to achieve my desired physique before sharing more photos. Until then, you can expect to see my daily stats on Twitter/𝕏, which some people may find boring. Don’t like it? There’s the door. I don’t owe anyone anything and love myself enough to know my self-worth and where I stand regarding this.

I am curious to know what your goals are for the month of February. Feel free to let me know in the comments section below ↓ Also, I would really appreciate it if you followed me on Twitter (@serene_hilz), that is, if you aren’t already a follower. It is so hard to grow on that platform but I really do enjoy using it to connect with like-minded bloggers.

Thanks for stopping by! ♥

I read this book by Jen Sincero many years ago and can’t remember if I actually finished it. This is my second book since I started reading 10 pages each day. So far, this book is well…underwhelming. I don’t resonate with this book like I did before. The concepts I have already implemented into my life and I feel like the author really dumbs down the concepts by making up her own words which makes the book even less impressive in my humble opinion. A better book is The subtle art of not giving a f*** by Mark Manson. He’s more of a realist than an idealist which is probably why I liked his book a lot better than this one. I read Mark Mansion’s book a few years ago.

And yes, I do two 45-min workouts for a total of 90min per day. On a particularly bad day I will do a 90-min workout but it’s exhausting and I don’t recommend it. It’s better to space these workouts out throughout the day. A workout can be as simple as a walk outside. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Since I live in winter climate, I use my treadmill most days. Chores and and errands don’t count towards the 90-min of exercise per day unless you’re walking to the store and it takes you 45-min to get there, if that makes sense.

I am not much fan of mark Manson’s book
        His both book
Subtle art of not giving a fuck
And everything is fucked, gave me depression. Reason those books were unnecessary dark and the author have used unnecessary curse words after after 2 lines. I don’t understand the concept behind them. Those are in my sell list.

I used to do 120 mins HIIT

Nowadays 90 mins HIIT on some days. Otherwise 90+ mins weight training.

Ahh yes, even a walk is a good workout.

Mark Manson’s approach to things is not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. I don’t mind the swearing and bluntness, but I also listen to podcasts that have a lot of curse words in them too (all self-help, personal development stuff). After a while I tune it out and look at the message or takeaway instead. And for some reason I find that stuff motivating as if a coach is yelling at me so do better. Or something like that.

I found Mark Mansion’s book easy to follow and straight-forward, direct and to the point. I haven’t read his other book “Everything is f****d” but might read it in the future.

Everyone resonates differently with different things. I find it fascinating how one book resulted in two very different experiences. With that being said, “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero has less curse words in it, but she’s more high-vibe, fluffy feel-good rub-your-tummy to the point of toxic positivity which makes it hard for me to take her seriously. She’s funny though and made me laugh more times than Mark Manson did. Her book might resonate with you more if you don’t mind that she replaces words like God with Source Energy and Ego with The Big Snooze etc. It got old for me fast, but that’s just me. I’m going to finish reading her book but I don’t think I will be buying any more of her books.

I’ve listed those books for selling.
I’m having a hard time reading what I’m currently reading. 😛
Some self help books are so so good, others are just boring.
I feel more depressed reading some of the books
At times like that reader’s digest is a big help 😌

Two 45 min workouts a day??!! Wow!! I limit my social media accounts to WP only. But I do look forward to your posts and no wonder you have little time for posting with two workouts a day and all the other things that are going on in your life. My goals? Just trying to stay above ground as long as I can and try and take at least one worthwhile photo a day. 😊

Yes. It sounds like a lot but if you schedule in workouts it’s not so bad. On workdays I can only get one workout in so my second workout is at least 10K steps. Last week I lost 3lbs and idk what my starting weight was. I take daily progress pics and can see a difference so far, which gives me the motivation to keep going.

I also drink a minimum of 3L of plain water per day, totally 3.8L including tea and coffee. It’s a lot but I need to drink more since I’m working out more.

It all sounds pretty drastic which it is but I also want it to be sustainable long-term. It takes longer than 21-days to form a habit. I’m currently on Day 26 and I know that I haven’t formed these habits yet.

I know I can achieve it and fully believe that I can do it this year 🙌 I’m on Day 28 right now and this has been one of the toughest “test days” yet. I didn’t start my 2 workouts until 7:30pm today and I’m working out while I write this. I didn’t do my readings yet. I still have more water to drink. Still need to take a progress pic (I don’t share them online but maybe one day!). It’s been a day but I’m not going to bed until it gets done.

The look I’m going for is being able to wear the clothes I wore in 2015 before I had my daughter. I kept most of these clothes. It makes me sad realizing that it’s been 9 years since I’ve worn these clothes!

I believe that you can do it. Believe in yourself and show up for yourself every day. You’ve got this Kiki! 💪🔥

I can relate to not posting much due to working on your personal health and well-being. It’s been maybe more than a year since my last blog post, but I am now finally ready to get back to blogging more often. Like yourself, I have been busy trying to better my mental health and trying to work out more often. Surprisingly, I haven’t been on my major social media platforms since December because I felt that the ‘doomstrolling’ was one of the factors that impacted my mental health. I like how you mapped out your monthly goals for this month in different categories, which just gave me inspiration to help me map out my goals for March. BTW, Timon is so CUTE!!! He looks like he keeps you company while you workout, which is so sweet. Outstanding post! 💕

Awesome goals, keep it up! I am in a similar boat in which I’ve been focusing a lot more on my health and fitness, and have found that it sadly leaves less time for blogging/writing. Just not enough time in the day. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to balance both without neglecting the other.

All the best with your Feb goals. Definitely don’t share images till you’re ready. It’s your blog and you shouldn’t feel pressured to share images till you want to yourself not because people want you to.

Thank you for reading and commenting, Pooja! 🙂 I started weighing myself every Wednesday which turned out to be a terrible idea, so I won’t be weighing myself for now on but rather focus on how my clothes fit instead.

All of my photos are a sports bra and underwear and I really don’t think anyone wants to see that. It’s just to track things on my phone (for now) but eventually I will take presentable photos. I still have a long way to go since weight loss has plateaued. It’s frustrating but I don’t want to give up yet!

I think with weight loss it’s definitely more of a longterm goal so keep going. I know it’s tough but it’ll be worth it once you start seeing the results. Yeah, weighing yourself can make you just feel way worse. Instead focus on being healthy and active as much as possible! 😊
