Wow, can you believe how fast time is flying? Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana. Anyways, it’s hard to believe that it’s July! Guess what? My husband’s birthday is just around the corner, and although I’m uncertain where I’ll be for his birthday, chances are I’ll be out of province.
These days, I am contemplating where to put my focus and energy. Right now, it’s not in writing. However, I am feeling rather defeated with Redbubble and will probably slow down a bit with uploading designs. To date, I have uploaded 46 designs which is crazy considering that I only started beginning of June 2023. Due to their new “tier” system which takes an additional 30-50% from my already modest earnings, I am left with no option but to increase profit margins by 5%, which is less than ideal. That being said, my goal is to still add 100 designs to the shop by the end of September 2023. You can check out my shop via the following link:

Everything is Awesome Exhausting
Lately, I have been experiencing extreme fatigue and a lack of motivation. It feels like every aspect of my life has become overwhelming and mundane. While I am not clinically depressed, these constant feelings of exhaustion and frustration are taking a toll on my overall well-being. Even activities that used to bring me joy now feel like burdensome tasks. When starting new projects, I often find my initial motivation fading away after a few weeks. The excitement and satisfaction I used to get from accomplishing tasks no longer gives me the same rush of dopamine.
This change in my approach to blogging doesn’t mean I’m quitting, rather it’s a decision to take a break during the summer. It could actually be beneficial for me to prioritize my creative energy and only write when inspiration strikes, without feeling obligated or guilty for not producing content consistently. Furthermore, I only have 2 shifts this month, which aligns with my need to slow down and recover from whatever this is.
JULY GOALS 2023
Career Goals:
- Possibly bid on available shifts (optional)
- Catch up on work emails + look for upcoming MLL courses
- Work on side hustle → have 60+ designs by the end of July

Personal Goals:
- Publish 1-2 blog posts + monthly recap
- Transfer appointments to my Posh Planner
- Keep tabs on doctor’s appointments/pending appointments
- Daily Duolingo practice 🇩🇪
- Finish photo album for my dad → due July 12

Health Goals:
- Track steps on Pikmin Bloom app → advance to Level 45 🌸
- Track water intake on Water Llama app
- Leave the house once a day and get some sunshine☀️
(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ FINAL THOUGHTS ♥
As you can see, my Redbubble side-hustle falls under Career Goals even though there is a lot of overlap between this and my Personal Goals. I am determined to make more sales this month and I refuse to give up, despite the frustrations I have with Redbubble. Even though I haven’t been actively posting on Medium, I have no intentions of quitting that platform either. It can be challenging to find a balance, but I am determined to figure it out. If necessary, I may consider a dopamine-detox reset to help me feel better. Do you struggle with low-energy? Have you ever done a dopamine-detox? Let me know in the comments below ↓ and we can talk about it.
Thanks for stopping by! ♥

“fruit flies like a banana.” 🤣🤣
I hope your schedule goes well and taking a break would be great. I love taking breaks.
I’ll be visiting my parents in Ontario. They live across the country. It’s going to be boring but at the same time I’m feeling exhausted and should probably slow down a bit.
My cousin first told me that saying and it kinda stuck lol 😂 That saying was the first thing she had in her Facebook bio. ⏰🍌
You are very talented with your artwork and stickers! I’m so impressed! And you do sound in need of a break so I hope you get a chance to relax and rest very soon! I miss you, my friend!
Thank you so much! I’m hoping to get to 800 designs. Right now I’m at 47 designs. 😅 They take a lot of time and time is something I don’t have these days.
I miss you too, my friend!! ✌️💕
First of all, I 100% understand what you mean – I felt burnt out after my exams too, it took me a few weeks to get back to blogging! I think a break is exactly what you need so you can recharge and rejuvenate! Maybe try something new that could help you find more joy again? Also, your red bubble shop designs are so cute! I’ll definitely keep them in mind if need be, great post! 🤗
“Fruit flies like a banana” I’ve never heard it 😂
I do understand how you’re feeling and I’ve experienced this exhaustion too…what I did? I’ve took a step back from all my “goals” and I’ve imposed myself to do what I want when I want most of the time (especially with my hobbies and my free time)…and after a while it worked…the motivation of doing and the excitement of doing it came back 😉
So no, I’ve never had a dopamine-detox but if you give yourself some space I’m sure you’ll feel better!
Good luck with that!!
Looks like you have already share 2 posts
I try to at least upload monthly blog posts and recaps even if it means I don’t get around to uploading anything else 😅 It’s still better than nothing. During the month of July, I didn’t have time to blog while I was in Ontario.
Well yeah
I’m delighted to see you here
Thank you for supporting me and this blog. 🙂
You could make a killing selling those as NFTs. 😅
And… fruit flies like a banana… 🫣 lmao
I actually thought about that, that is, the potential of turning them into NFTs. I don’t know enough about the NFT market or the capacity to learn it at the moment.
Most NFT projects are collaborations between artists and developers because not many people are good at both. If you ever want to look into it, I’ve always wanted to test it out but can’t draw for sh** 😅. Developing it is free apart from our time; there’s no promise they’d take off but your art is better than 99% of the NFT market, that’s for sure.
Just a thought!
Good luck with all of your goals! 💕
Thank you, Lucy! It’s hard to believe that it’s July 7 already. Summer is flying by, like a bunch of bananas. 🍌🍌🍌
Great post, never done a dopamine-detox but from what I’ve learned, taking a break now and again definitely helps rejuvenate the motivation. I think the designs are super cool, I see the hard work that goes into them. Last of all, good luck on all your goals!
Good luck with everything! I know what you mean, time has flown by. This month has really taken out of me and we’re not even a quarter way through. I absolutely love your designs btw 😊
Thanks, Pooja! I’m glad you like them. Redbubble took a huge 90% chunk of my earnings as I’m stuck in “standard” tier. I had to increase the profit margin which makes it hard to make sales now. Ugh. I often feel like quitting but I promised myself I can quit once I reach 800 designs. I have 47 designs so far. I will be slowing down a bit though, now that it’s summer and life responsibilities are nipping at my feet. No time for hobbies these days.
Tbh it feels like it’s been July for 2 weeks now so I know what you mean. July has been a hard month so far.
I love your designs. I sell on Etsy and they take a huge cut too and I end up making hardly anything. So frustrating.
Hi Laura! That’s too bad… yeah, it hardly seems worth it at that point when profit margins are so low 😭 I’m still with Redbubble and they are still taking big cuts. I heard that Etsy charges per post which is why I’m so reluctant to try Etsy.
