🌞Sunshine Blogger Award Rules🌞

The Sunshine Blogger Award has rules (surprise, surprise!). These rules ensure the success of this award, providing exposure to all the award winners. The rules are quite simple and straightforward.

Rules for Award:

  • Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.
  • Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.
  • Notify the nominees about it by commenting on one of their blog posts.
  • List the rules and display a Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or your blog site.

Questions I was asked:

1. What is your favourite fruit? Personally, I love them all so it’s hard for me to narrow it down to just one. I can narrow it down to my top 3 favourite fruits: peaches 🍑 mangoes 🥭 and raspberries😍

2. What one place in the world would you like to visit, outside your own country? The cherry blossom festival in Japan!

3. Do you like pets? As a matter of fact, I like cats and dogs. At one point, I wanted to be a veterinarian but I feel like this is every girl’s dream. I co-oped at a veterinary clinic and got to adopt a pug from a litter of pug puppies after witnessing a disturbing euthanasia that left me in tears. I named my pug after the pug that was euthanized in memory of that dog. My pug is now 9 years old and she lives with my parents in Ontario. Recently, my husband and I adopted a cat from a local animal shelter to help me deal with my depression. I love this cat so much and he puts up with a lot of toddler shenanigans….

Zoë is a 9 year old fawn pug who lives with my parents. She enjoys spending time at my dad’s boat on weekends.

4. Do you like beetles? I don’t mind The Beatles as in the band, but I am terrified of creepy crawlies. I get itchy just thinking about beetles.

5. Do you enjoy flower gardening? Honestly, I’ve never tried to tend to a garden. Considering how terrible I am at keeping house plants alive, I rather not chance it. A few potted plants is all I need to be happy.

some-edits-and-stuff-i-used-to-make-when-i-was-bored_15351327818_o

I wouldn’t mind having potted plants like these! Courtney S. is the owner of this photo (we were neighbors a very long time ago) but I don’t have a link to give her credit.

6. Do you enjoy yard work? My mom complains about the weeds, so I probably wouldn’t enjoy yard work. I didn’t mind mowing the lawn as a kid because my dad paid me to mow it. Now that I’m an adult, I would prefer to own a property that requires little to no yard maintenance.

7. Do you like winter? If yes, you obviously don’t live around here. By winter I mean at least 5 months with snow on the ground and temps getting as cold as -30°C. NOPE! 👎 I dislike climates that are too hot or too cold. Canada is way too cold for me and our winters/cold temperatures typically last 8+ months of the year with approx. 2 months of scorching hot summers. When it’s -30°C outside and I’m with you, I literally cannot feel my face. Seriously, who thought that living in Canada was a good idea?

img_0934_19087557293_o.jpg

Summer vs. winter in Canada. Don’t let the pretty snow fool you.

8. Do you enjoy traveling? Yes and no. Travelling is a bit stressful and I usually don’t find it relaxing. I haven’t done a lot of travelling so my views might change once I start exploring more countries. This summer, we will be flying across the country to visit our families and honestly, even these “mini vacations” are mentally draining and physically exhausting.

9. Do you enjoy moving? My husband and I move around A LOT. Honestly, I don’t know what home is anymore. Within the last 5 years, we have moved house a handful of times. We will be moving again in a couple of years, hopefully to our forever home. My husband wants to leave Canada for several reasons but I am not thrilled about moving to a foreign country.

10. Do you prefer sunrise or sunset? Notice the word prefer, means pick only one. I prefer sunset because most evenings, I get to watch the sun set. Usually I am still asleep when the sun rises.

11. How many hours of sleep do you prefer to have? Ideally, 8-9 hours of sleep. I can easily sleep 13+ hours on any given day, so I have to force myself to wake up at a reasonable hour. I don’t know why I’m always tired but it’s probably a result of food allergies or intolerance.

Very good Hilary!! I enjoyed those answers, especially winter! Also nice to see I’m not the only one that moves around a lot! Hope you have a great day and week!!😃🌞😺

I’m happy I kept the summer & winter image 😊🙏🏻 It was taken in the arboretum at U of Guelph. A classmate of mine photoshopped the image. Who would have thought that photo could be put to good use here? 😂👍

As a kid, I did not move around because my dad built the house; born and raised in Ontario. Then I moved out and since then, I’ve lived in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Thanks for reading and stopping by today!☺️🌻

I wish I had a bit more ability and I would try something like that image. I have moved around a lot since I was born! My parents moved a lot and I kept up with the tradition!😂😹

Thank you so much, Pooja!😊 Pugs are my favourite dog breed and my dad’s favourite dog breed as well. I miss my dog a lot, and it’s been at least a year since I’ve last seen her. At least she knows where her home is. 🏠🐕

Do you own any cats or dogs (or both?)?

Yeah I love cats and had two but one passed away two years ago which was very difficult but I still have one.

Thank you so much for reading and giving me positive feedback. Your support means the world to me!😊 I am curious to know if you have been to Canada? What country do you live in?

I would describe Canada as a country with lots of pretty scenery but not too populated with people. The scenery also changes from province to province as you drive across Canada. My home province has a bunch of lakes. The province I am living in now has mountains. The province I lived in prior to moving here has corn fields and flat land.

        Hello, nice to meet you.
Thank you for your kind words, you warm my heart.
I’ve been to Canada, I have family there.
Alberta and British Colombia I have experince a lot, and I love it.
I also have family in Toronto and Ottawa…
I am from and live in Norway. So some of my family went over to Canada for many years ago and never come back.
        Take care.
        Enjoy your day.
(May I ask where you live?)

Always good to know the fellow bloggers 🙂 glad to meet your cute pets and Courtney potted plants are beautiful!
Many Lebanese live in Canada and at certain point I planned to go then changed my mind, I also hate the extreme cold and heat, we have moderate weather here luckily 🙂 I know how it’s like to move from house to another and hope you’ll settle down after your next move
I do appreciate the nomination so much! It has been added to my to do list, will let you know once it’s done even if I took some time 🙂
Have a great day and congratulations on a new nomination 😊

I think it’s on our bucket list for future places to visit. I wouldn’t mind going to Japan as a graduation present in 2021. It would truly be a miracle from the heavens if I graduate! 🙏🌸

Hilary, I’m sure you’re worrying unnecessarily and you’ll pass with flying colours and visit Japan.

Put it this way, I had to forfeit last term and need to repeat it next year. If it happens again, I am forced to withdraw from the program. #no-pressure

      • Sheree says:
        Sheree's avatar

You need to come up with a plan to ensure you succeed which will lift some of that pressure.

Canada is a pretty country to visit, but I wish I didn’t live here. Having to scrape ice off your car in the winter only to realize that the car won’t start anyways because it’s too cold is not a great way to start the day. 🥶😒

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Lily. 😊💕 It really means a lot to me!

I missed a few of your earlier comments, Ribana, and I’m going through them all now. Replying to all of the comments I missed is a little overwhelming. I am not intentionally trying to spam you with notifications. 😆 Thank you for your lovely comment. Timon the cat is doing well although he chewed up my Vitamix… the blender is in pretty bad condition 😭 Canada is beautiful but gets really cold here, especially during the winter!

Cats and dogs really do make great pets! They haven’t met each other because they live in different provinces. We’ll be visiting my parents next week and I really wanted to bring the cat along with me to meet the dog, but my parents weren’t thrilled by that idea.

A very happy and joyous birthday to you. May God fulfil all your worthwhile dreams and desires.
We also kept moving all our lives. Where ever I am is home for me. It maybe worth going along with your husband’s idea of moving to another country.
I am looking forward to visiting your beautiful country in September-October
All the very best once again.

I know Hilary, free WordPress has a lot of limitations, I have upgraded to Premium plan but still have a lot of limitations and will soon try to upgrade to standard plan.

      • Hilary Tan says:

You are lucky that you have upgraded, even if it’s not the ideal plan that you want. Any upgrade is good. 👍

I plan to upgrade when a) I run out of storage space or b) Once I’m done school and can commit to a blogging schedule.
