Friends No More

Disclaimer: Friends No More is based on my personal experience with unhealthy friendships that I have had in the past. This poem isn’t directed towards any one person in particular. It’s a reminder of the pain I went through when someone I cared deeply about betrayed me and lied to my face, ultimately leading to our friendship to come to an ugly end. This poem is 100% original, written by me, and it is bullshit-free. If you like this poem, feel free to check out my other poetry musings here. ✨

Thanks for reading! ♡

That’s a nice rap and a serious mood.

I wanna hear the flow to this. Is there a way to add audio to the post so we can hear it? (If you’re comfortable?)

    That first stanza hit.

Good question. I’ve never uploaded audio on WordPress before and probably won’t upload audio. I’m not a huge fan of my voice – perhaps an AI bot could do it for me.

You’d have to edit that or risk having a trash rap. However, I’m sure there’s tons of people that’d do it for free or for a cheap price.

I could do it but I rather not do it. It just wouldn’t be the same if someone else did it. I was half joking with the AI technology.

If you still want a recording, add me on WhatsApp. Send me an email and your contact info so I can add you. I have an audio thing on my phone. I’m still recovering from a cough/frog-sounding voice though.

Oh no, it’s good. Please rest your voice.

(I had a feeling you were joking, but I take things seriously, especially when I can’t see any signs of joking. I am sorry.😂 I don’t think it’s an text problem, I’m just stupid.)

Don’t say that – you aren’t stupid! I take text seriously too b/c it’s impossible to read emotion in one’s writing. It’s challenging to add sarcasm too 😅

Thank you, I’m still recovering. My sore throat is pretty much gone but my throat is so dry and I keep coughing.

I’ve learnt over the years that not all your friends are supposed to be in your life forever. some are just temporary and that’s okay. For the friends that have hurt me, I’ve let go and moved on. Loved the rap.

That’s good advice, Pooja. I wrote this poem/rap in 2017 but didn’t refine it until yesterday. Sometimes it’s hard for me to let people go, especially when things ended abruptly and letting go is hard.

P.S. When I wrote this poem/rap, I was able to let go because I was the one who let them go and ended things. I find that it’s easier being the dumper than being the dumpee, if that make sense.

That definitely makes sense. I had to let go of someone who was like a best friend to me and I think it was easier since I’m the one who chose to go NC.

Girl fake and phony is right! You take those “friends” and shove it. Been there and done that. I can feel someones negative vibes a mile away now. Great Post!
