I noticed that people don’t visit my blog pages, but rather they read the blog posts. This is why I wanted to add an archive of only recipes to my Recipe Page.
Now that it’s practically winter and it’s too cold to do anything outside where I live, there is nothing more comforting than a hot cup of tea or coffee. I don’t mind the instant hot cocoa from the grocery store – we have a can that we are currently using. Sometimes, I want “a taste of home” and yearn for something a bit sweeter and richer than a cup of hot tea or coffee.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland
I can still remember my most recent experience with homemade hot chocolate and the memory is so vivid that I can almost taste it. My husband and I were in southern Ontario, at an outdoor outlet mall, when we decided to stop for a hot chocolate at one of the cafes. We were window shopping when we came across this amazing café and had to try their hot chocolate. I can remember exactly how it tasted and it was by far the best that I’ve ever had. I want to try and recreate that recipe, I know mine is nothing special but I always love when my daughter asks me to make something. A few weeks ago, I did just that. Although I didn’t take any photos at the time, I wrote down the recipe. Now, I want to share the recipe with you!

Yummy! In Jamaica, we love adding nutmeg spice as well 🙂

Nutmeg is a great spice too, yum! 😋 One drink that’s popular in Canada during the holidays is eggnog, which has nutmeg in it 🙂

Yummy, we have eggnog too but it’s not as popular. Our most popular drink is called sorrel. I will post about it next month 🙂

Yum!!!
I think most WordPressers revolve around the WP Reader to read new content as it is published much more than they actually visit sites. So they might be missing lots of additional pages and features.

Yes, I totally agree. Sadly, I don’t think many readers visit the websites and rely solely on the Reader to connect with bloggers. It took a while for me to finally turn my pages into blog posts. The pages are still there but it’s an archive of blog posts now, if that makes sense.

It’s not winter without hot chocolate, it just makes me feel so much better no matter what! I never add cinnamon in mine though since I don’t really like cinnamon in most things.

Cinnamon is an acquired taste for sure. I grew up using cinnamon on everything (oatmeal, toast, cookies, hot chocolate….) so I am sorta used to it. One thing I don’t like are cinnamon candies and artificial cinnamon flavor (eg. cinnamon mouthwash/gum).

Oh yeah cinnamon gum is awful. I think I haven’t really eaten much cinnamon especially not in desserts so I’m not used to it. I don’t mind it in savoury foods I just don’t like it in sweet things.

Cinnamon is surprisingly good in hot apple cider. I used to buy cinnamon sticks for hot apple cider. I haven’t had it in years though.
I’m the opposite where I prefer cinnamon in sweet foods lol

Oh I see, I don’t really eat or drink stuff with apple because I hate apples lol. But I know a lot of people love apple cider.
Haha I guess it just depends on what you grew up eating cinnamon with.

Using milk is the key! Oh how I love hot chocolate.

Too much milk can make me feel sick d/t lactose intolerance. But once in a while is okay. Plant milk doesn’t seem to bother me but it doesn’t taste nearly as good lol

I agree!!! Plant based milk is so much better but wished it tasted like whole milk
